Our Philosophy
We are a dedicated team of experienced professionals whose clients know they can depend on us to deliver quality service
with a caring and personal touch. We have chosen to remain a small company in order to deliver consistent service and peace
of mind to our valued clients. We believe the best approach is holistic and considers each pet's physical and emotional needs.
Our walks and hikes provide a fun outing where dogs not only benefit from plenty of exercise, but also learn important social skills in positive, reward based environment. We believe that good communication plays a crucial part in providing quality service.
We work with each one of our clients to ensure their dog is getting the most from their time with us.
We consider our hikes and walks to be learning opportunities.
As a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild we believe in positive pet care and training.
We appreciate the fact that you have taken the time to carefully select the right professional service to care for

Our Team
Jessica - OwnerJessica was born and raised on the North Shore and had a love of animals from a young age. She loved spending summers at her dad's family farm in Ireland where it was always a struggle to pull her away from the animals at meal times.
After high school Jessica worked at the North Shore Veterinary Clinic for more than 10 years, while at the same time completing a degree in Animal Biology from the University of British Columbia. Jessica eventually left the veterinary field to join the animal nutrition industry for 5 years where she learned the importance of good nutrition in the overall health of animals. Jessica enjoys staying active and can often be found on the trails during the weekends with her own dogs, Kepler and Linus. In her spare time she also enjoys training and competing with Linus and Kepler in Agility, Disc, Rally Obedience and Tracking. |
ShayleeBorn into a family with two German Shepherds, Katy and Scooby, and a Great Dane, Buddy, Shaylee fell in love with animals at a young age. Next came Snuggles, her first cat. A house full of pets is a house full of love, she says.
Later on, after moving out on her own, she temporarily gained a new addition, an energetic, strong, and of course, snuggly, Staffordshire Terrier named Diesel. She realized how good of a mom she was going to be, because "if I can love my dog this much, imagine my own kids!" Her passion lies within health and fitness, so her go-to hobby was getting Diesel out and exploring the beauty of the North Shore trails! Today, Shaylee lives with her two roomies, a tuxedo cat Romeo, and a new kitten, Bella. They aren't dogs.. but they'll do for now! Now, she gets to ensure other pups are getting their exercise, fresh air, and staying in good health! She is so excited to begin her journey with A Walk in The Park. She looks forward to building relationships with the pups and ensuring they receive safe and efficient exercise! |
JammerJammer loves hiking on the North Shore mountain trails with his dog, Emi, regardless of the weather.
Being the son of a veterinarian, looking after animals has been important to him throughout his life. His childhood dogs included Sherry (German Shepherd), Benz (Collie/Labrador) and while raising his own family of three kids, Albi (Yellow Labrador) and Emi (Chihuahua cross). These pets led Jammer to become an enthusiastic dog walking team member at A Walk in the Park for his second career. Jammer enjoys physical fitness and earned a Bachelor of Physical Education from McMaster University. This education led him to a twenty year career as the West Vancouver Soccer Club’s Technical Director. Looking after children’s physical fitness in this role, makes Jammer a reliable, responsible caretaker of four-legged loved ones, too, and someone who has a high regard for safety. Jammer is committed to providing the dogs that hike with A Walk In The Park great exercise and lots of fun. Jammer has Pet First Aid certification and regularly seeks ongoing professional development opportunities. When not hiking A Walk In The Park clients' dogs, you can find Jammer coaching soccer to youth and adult players, listening to business podcasts, dog sitting and hanging with his family. |
JayHowdy! My name is Jay and I am originally from a small town called Williams Lake. I moved to Vancouver when I was 13 and definitely fell in love with the city life. I’ve had 2 dogs in my life so far; a poodle mutt named Copo, and a shih tzu named Muky. I also helped rescue a husky puppy, named Odin, in 2018 with my cousins and he is a zestful one! I currently have a short-haired oriental black cat named Mia, and a 2.5 year old son. I have a natural love for all animals and I’m thrilled to be making connections with dogs for a living!
I moved from North Burnaby to the North Shore with my GF in 2020. I spend all my free time with our son and you can always catch us at local parks on the weekend. Cate’s Park is definitely one of our favourites with the big playground on one side and the beach on the other! Once he goes to sleep, I like to work-out, listen to podcasts/audiobooks, stay up-to-date on all the pop-culture TV shows/movies/anime, and I like to stream videogames on Twitch! I’m a big nerd with a big heart and it will be a pleasure meeting everyone and their doggos! |
